Frances Lynette Reid, 58, passed away Monday, August 18 in Depaul Hospital after a lengthy illness. God plucked a rose from this Earthly garden to plant in His Heavenly garden. She was a fighter until the end and her kind spirit still remains. She retired as a Pharmacist Technician at Kmart.

She was predeceased by her mother, Geneva Scott Sykes. Left to cherish her memories are her father, Deacon Warren Sykes; her devoted husband of 33 years, Deacon Jesse T. Reid, Jr.; two sons, Ryan (Chauntee) and Jaren (Heather); five grandchildren, Bryan, Kiara, Landon, Mikaylah, and Jaden; two sisters, Juanita (Bobby) and Wanda; one brother, Pendelton and a host of relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at First Baptist South Hill, Chesapeake by Rev. Michael Toliver on Monday, August 25, 2014 at 12 noon. Visitation will be held from3-5pm Sunday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Condolences can be offered to the family at www.pretlowandsons.com.
