Norfolk - Frederick O'Neal West III, 68, of the 700 block of Easy Street went home to be with the Lord on April 26, 2009. He was born on November 18, 1940 in Norfolk to Frederick Jr. and Lottie West.

He was predeceased by his sons, Michael Britton and Antonio Straught, his grandparents, Frederick Sr. and Lula West, his parents, Frederick Jr. and Lottie West and his niece, Wanda Davis.

He is survived by his sisters, Shirley Hicks (Roosevelt) and Maureen Haskins of Norfolk; brothers, Michael West (Edna) and Ronald West (Brenda) of Hampton and Reuben West of Norfolk; stepsons, Ronald, Gary, Joseph, and Renard Newsome; stepdaughter, Latarsha Hasty; devoted friends, Ester West and Gail Gibson and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Interment will follow at St. Luke Church Cemetery. Viewing will be held 2pm – 7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at 904 Butt Street in Chesapeake.
