Obituary

Today is the day that we join in celebration for the life and legacy of Gail Paulette Clark who departed her earthly life Saturday, January 2, 2021. Gail was born July 12, 1951 to her proud parents Leonard L. Clark Sr. and Rebecca T. Clark in her hometown of Norfolk, Virginia.

Gail graduated from Norview High School, Norfolk, Virginia. in1969. While attending Norview High School, Gail completed courses at Norfolk Vocational Technical Center where she earned her certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse in,1970. Being a nurse was a dream Gail had treasured since she was a young girl. As she began her career, Gail soon married and became a mother to her daughter Raynelle whom she loved and cherished. Later, Gail balanced being an amazing single mother with a growing career.

Gail worked at Norfolk General Hospital now Sentara where she gained experience, as a catalyst to her growing career. Gail was offered a position at McGuire Veteran's Administration Hospital in Richmond, VA. She accepted a promotion in Cincinnati, OH as the Chief of Ambulatory Care & Processing. She was affectionally known as Chief Gail.Gail also earned her Associates in Liberal Arts and her Bachelor of Science in Humanities soon followed. Gail soared in diverse healthcare positions to keep herself abreast of the everchanging medical field. As a result, she completed her career as a Medical Assistant Instructor, educating others in the health care industry. Gail believed that the healthcare field can be at its best, if there are people dedicated and educated to provide the best care for others.

Gail was a believer in serving the community. She was one of the original members of The Center for Closing the Health Gap. She served in the Tristate Medical Reserve Corp where she provided care and resources for victims of Hurricane Katrina of 2005 and the 2009 H1N1 Outbreak. She served as the Health and Wellness Coordinator at Zion Global Ministries where she attended. She was a mentor at
Woodward High School and was always ready to provide her heart and advice to anyone.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, January 8, 2021 at Zionn Globial Ministries in West Chester, Ohio. Interment will be 11:00 am Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Rosewood Memorial Gardens, Virginia Beach. Viewing will be from 5pm until 6pm Wednesay, January 13, 2021 at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
