Gaynell Francis Terregone Fletcher was born 83 years ago on December 2, 1935 in New Orleans, Louisiana and was called to rest on January 18, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Fletcher, her mother Adele Cecilia Ranson Groves, her father Joseph Terregone and her sister Ann Delores Malcolm.

Being received and accepted by our Lord as a child, Gaynell was reared in the Catholic faith and continued her ardent faith at St. Thomas, AME Zion until the day the heavens called her home.

She leaves behind her three daughters Kim Delores Jones, Tanya Marie Young and her husband Douglas Young, Takecha Adele Jones;two grandsons, Jovani Steven Allen (son of Takecha), and Enoch Richard Douglas Young (son of Tanya and Douglas). She also leaves behind her brother-in-law Dr. William T. Fletcher, two very special daughters Sharon Denise Gilliam, and Karen Peters who resides in High Point, NC, and a special son Lumumba Lasana. She also leaves her church family and friends.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 28, 2019 at St. Thomas AME Zion Church. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will from 3pm until 6pm Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
