Obituary
Chesapeake
– Gene R. Riddick, 77, of the 1800 block of Cullen Avenue passed March 15, 2010. He was born September 11, 1932 to James Thomas and Irma Darden.
He was predeceased by his wife Shirley Riddick, his mother and father, three sisters, Muriel Cowell, Constance Exhem and Shirley Poke, and one brother, Freddie Thomas. Left to cherish his memory, one son, Gene Riddick Jr.; two sisters, Melba Jackson (Ernest) of Chesapeake and Rebecca Clark of Norfolk, a friend and caregiver, Henry C. Hawley of Chesapeake and a host of relatives and friends.
A home going service will be held at New Central Baptist Church under leadership of Rev. Donald Gaffney, Friday March 19 at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held Thursday from 3 pm – 7 pm Thursday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
