Chesapeake- Geneva James Harris, 99, passed away peacefully, at her home on November 23, 2013. She was married to the late Eddie Clay Harris. She was preceded in death by her husband and children, Rubena, Katherine, Joeann, Eddie,
Lee Ernest, Samuel, George and Jaycee Harris. Geneva was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many.


She is survived by her children, Golethia Nanches of Washington, D.C., Willis Harris (Barbara) of Fort Pierce, FL,
Eva Hampton ( Lorenzo) of West Palm Beach, FL, Ulysses Harris of Fort Washington, MD, Beatrice Harris, Gloria Cuffee, Lee Otis Harris and Nathaniel Harris (Barbara) of Chesapeake, VA, daughters-in-law, Carolyn Harris of Portsmouth, VA, Rose Harris of South Mills, NC and Ann Harris of Hampton, VA; one sister, Odessa McDonald (Seth) of Chesapeake, VA; thirty two grandchildren; sixty four great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2013, at New Mount Olive Baptist Church, 662 Fernwood Farms Road, Chesapeake, VA, 23320. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake, VA. Viewing will be held at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home on Friday, November 29, 2013 from 3-7pm.
