Obituary
Genita Maria Harrison Jackson, 55, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 31, 2010, in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She was born in Portsmouth, Virginia, on October 17, 1955.
Genita was a 1973 graduate of Cradock High School in Portsmouth, Virginia and a 1977 graduate of St. Augustine's College, Raleigh, North Carolina.
She was a dedicated employee with the Broward County Public School System for 13 years and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Her passion for educating future generations was unsurpassed. She was loved by all and she will be truly missed.
She was predeceased by her father, Robert G. Harrison, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted husband of 32 years, Felix J. Jackson, Sr, two sons, Felix, Jr. and Nicholas, mother, Dorothy B. Harrison, , sisters, Linda H. Washington, Robin M. Harrison, brother, Robert G. Harrison, Jr. a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, November 8, 2010, at St. John Baptist Church, 2200 Effingham St. Portsmouth. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. Arrangements will be handled by Pretlow & Sons Funeral Home, 500 Liberty St. Chesapeake, VA 23324.You may offer your condolences to the family at www.pretlowandsons.com.
