Chesapeake – Rev. George R. Bell, Jr. past into eternal rest while at his residence on Wednesday, January 13, 2010. A native of Norfolk, he was the son of the late George R. Bell, Sr., and Rebecca Cox Bell. He attended Norfolk Public Schools and earned his degree from Virginia Union University. He was employed at Plasser America Corporation as a supervisor until his retirement.

George accepted Christianity at an early age and was always anchored in the Lord. He was the Associate Minister at Bethel Baptist Church. He loved the word and wanted to make sure he did his part in passing it to others.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Sharon and Gladys, and one brother, Roland. He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving wife of 42 years, Elaine; one daughter, Carshena; two sons, George III, and Michael; four grandchildren, Brittany, Emonie, Deshaun and Elijah; five siblings, Rosiland (Curtis), Keith, Rosa (Woodrow), Vivian and George (Ruby); two godchildren, Chant'a and Shannon; three grand-godchildren, Tiana, Briana and Araina and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

A funeral service will be held noon Tuesday at Bethel Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park.
