Georgia Brown Brown Welch, 84, received her heavenly wings on June 12, 2020. She was born in Norfolk County on February 21, 1936 to the late Elijah and Margaret Brown. Georgia graduated from Norfolk County High School in Chesapeake, VA. She continued her education at The Norfolk Division of Virginia State College (now Norfolk State University) becoming a Registered Nurse after graduation. Georgia worked at several hospitals including Community, Depaul,, Public Health Service and Chesapeake Regional where she retired as an OR Nurse.In addition to being predeceased by her parents, Georgia was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Welch, 11 brothers and sisters, James Brown, Annie Perkins (Reginald), Elijah Brown, Jr (Lavonia), Melvin Brown (Fair), Dorothy McCoy (Roger), Jasper Brown, Margaret Byrd, Linwood Brown, Barbara Thompson (Paul), Charlie Brown (Carol) and Willie Brown.Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Angela Reynolds and Karen (Jimmie) Mills of Chesapeake; grandson, Larry Reynolds of Virginia Beach; great –grandchildren, Aiden and Ava Reynolds of Virginia Beach; one sister, Mable Hines; one brother-in-law, Napoleon Byrd; three sisters-in-law, Audrey Brown, Rebecca Brown and Evelyn Brown and a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends.A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Saturday, June 20, 2020. Interment to follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. You are invited to join the service at 11:00 am on live stream at https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/902719 .
