Obituary

Gwendolyn Sivels Bell peacefully passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021. Born in Chesapeake, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late William S. Sivels, Sr., and Mattie C. Sivels. She was predeceased by her husband James Bell, sister Kim Satterfield, and brothers Karl and Thomas Sivels.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters Sherrie Bell and Jamie Burns (Johnathan); one grandson Jay Bell; six sisters Casandra Sivels, Devone Simmons, Tonia Brown, Etta Sivels, Connie McMurrin (Perry), and Erica Bell (James); three brothers William Sivels, Jr. (Sandra), Leander Sivels (Connie), and Christopher Sivels; a foster sister Tryna Cuffee and foster brother Lawrence Brickhouse, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 31, 2021, at St. Joseph AME Zion Church. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held from 5-7pm Friday, July 30, 2021 at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
