Hektor Zotaj passed peacefully on January 21, 2026, in Virginia Beach. He was born on October 22, 1936, in Tirana, Albania, where his life's journey began.

Raised during difficult times under a dictatorship, Hektor carried within him an unshakable optimism and a deep love for life, family, and humanity. He chose hope when hope was scarce and lived by his own terms, never allowing hardship to define him. From his years of study at the Agricultural Institute of Albania, through more than 35 years of devoted work in his homeland and 25 years in America, he remained a man in motion—always striving, always believing, always growing.

Hektor never surrendered to despair. Even when the path was dark and the cause seemed lost, he stood firm, fighting with quiet strength and unwavering faith in goodness. His resilience was not loud, but powerful, rooted in dignity and courage.

At the center of his life was love. He shared 54 beautiful years with his beloved wife Nadia, the love of his life, with whom he raised two sons. His devotion to family was boundless. He cherished his sisters Teuta and Shqiponja and his brother Luan, and he was a constant source of support, presence, and comfort to all who called him family.

Hektor's heart was generous, his soul luminous. He brought calm in moments of fear, wisdom in times of doubt, and courage when it was needed most. A loving husband, a devoted father, and a loyal friend, he lived a full and meaningful life rich with joy, memories, and human connection. Those who met him were changed by his kindness, steadied by his presence, and uplifted by his spirit.

He is survived by his loving wife Nadia—who will forever remain his rose—his sons Armin and Patris, and his sister Shqiponja. Though he has left this world, his spirit lives on as a guiding light in the hearts of all who loved him.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Sunday, January 25, 2026, at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 8100 Granby Street, Norfolk.
