Norfolk - Helen Frances Davis, 80, of the 1200 block of Pike Street was called home to be with the Lord February 10, 2007. Born in Nashville, Tennessee, she was employed with the City of Norfolk in Parks and Recreations for 31 years. She was a member of St. Paul C.M.E. Church where she was President of the Floral Club, a member of Usher Board #2, Pastor's Aide, a Stewardess Board, and Hospitality Committee. She was also a member of the United House of Tents, and a graduate of Tennessee State University in 1949 with a Bachelor Degree in Science.



She is predeceased by her husband, Herman V. Davis, daughter Alethia Gage and her parents, Wilbert and Sally Parrish. Survivors include seven daughters, Brenda Smith (Everett) of Virginia Beach, Beverly Mitchell (Eugene), Mechell Graham (Ray), Kimberly Epperson (George) and Tracey Reese all of Norfolk, and Kelly Butler (John, Jr.) of Virginia Beach; one son, Frankie Barksdale Jr. of Norfolk; a very special close cousins, Alston and his wife Barbara, very special friends, Frank and Mary Barksdale, and a host of Godchildren, grandchildren, great grandchildren, a great-great grandchild, other relatives and friends.



A funeral service will be held Thursday at noon at Enoch Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk. Viewing will be Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. The family will receive family and friends at 5543 Berryhill Road, Norfolk, and will assemble there at 11:00 a.m. the day of the service for the processional to the church.
