Obituary
Chesapeake – Herbert L. Nixon, 75, of the 2000 block of Midway Avenue was called home to be with the Lord on July 26, 2011. Born in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, he was a Chief in the United States Navy and retired after 20 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Cathedral of Faith COGIC, where he served faithfully as a Deacon.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda J. Nixon of Chesapeake, a daughter, Wanda D. Newby of Ruther Glen, VA, and a son, Kerry L. Nixon of Chesapeake, and a host of relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held noon Saturday at Cathedral of Faith COGIC. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held Friday from 3pm – 7pm at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. You may offer condolences to the family at www.pretlowandsons.com.
