Iva Lee Burnell Brewer passed away January 31, 2021. She was born April 4, 1960 in Chesapeake, Virginia to the late Eula Mae Burnell and Leon Hinton. She was predeceased by her husband John Brewer and step-father Elihu Harrell

Iva was a very lovable person. She was the oldest of 8 brothers and sisters.  Iva Lee was known for her wild, straight forward personality and infectious laughter.  There was never a dull moment when she walked in the room.   She graduated from Oscar Smith High School and worked for the City of Chesapeake for 20 years.

Iva leaves to cherish her memories four sisters: Belinda Burnell, Janet Burnell (Rick), Ella Burnell and Anita Burnell; three brothers: James Burnell, Larry Burnell and Elihu Burnell;  one step-daughter Kesha Harrell Wilson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Roosevelt Memorial Park, 1101 Campostella Road, Chesapeake. Due to the COVID-19 gathering restrictions, please join the livestream service Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 11:00 am at:
