James August Brown, lovingly known as "Junnie," departed this life on Monday, January 17, 2022 in Virginia Beach, VA. He was born on April 18, 1963 to the late James Brown and Barbara Jean Gordon.

A loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and dear friend, James loved to spend time with his loved ones. He was always there to spread joy and laughter, and would help anyone in need. Loved by many, James' memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

James was preceded in death by his sister, Norma Brown. He is survived by his three sons, Dominique Andrade, Jshaun Thompson and Eurvey Johnson; best friend, Kim Thompson; two sisters, Carol Stittiam and Debra Melvin (Mike); five brothers, Richard Gordon, Kermith Gordon, Paul Brown, Barry Brown and Curtis Brown; eleven grandchildren, Niyah, Alyssa, Gabrielle, Nicole, Kinsley, Dominique, Elijah, Esaiah, Janessa, Carrimay and Elias; special friend, Joanne Johnson; and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Viewing will be held Thursday, January 27, 2022 starting at 9:00 am followed by the funeral service  at 11:00 am at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Cheapeake.
