James Hamlin Jr.
Norfolk – James Hamlin Jr., affectionately known as "Junie", born in Norfolk, May 2, 1951 was the son of the late Elsie Mae Darden and James Hamlin Sr. He was called by the angels to take his journey home to God on April 16 2011.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Carla Pete-Hamlin; two sons, Aric Harris and Terrell Bond; two stepchildren, Jerry Pete Jr. (Crystal) and Carvella Perry (Immanuel); six grandchildren; four sisters, Delorse Butts (Ottis), Lucille Hamlin, Margie Pope, and Crystal Cuthbertson (Ronald); two brothers, Charles Hamlin (Debra) and William Hamlin, and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Interment will follow at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk. Viewing will be held Thursday from 3pm – 7pm at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6-7pm. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.pretlowandsons.com .
