On Monday, January 22, 2018, the Lord called home our beloved father, brother, uncle, fiancé, and dear friend, James Turner, Sr. James was born in Princess Anne County on March 8, 1949 to Rufus Turner, Sr. and Evelyn Tabourn Turner. He received his education in the Virginia Beach Public Schools. At an early age he accepted the Lord as his Savior and became a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

His memory will be cherished by his children, Niguass Paige (Chowan), Shacori Paige, and James Turner, Jr., all of Norfolk; grandchildren, Shrod Harding, Jamyla Turner, Taniya Turner, Lilyana Turner, Jiovanni Paige, Nichawn Paige, and Nigawan Paige; fiancée, Audra Wallace; brothers, George (Preach) Turner of Norfolk, and Rudolph Turner, Sr. of Portsmouth; sisters, Evelyn Turner, and Kathleen Turner Johnson of Chesapeake, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service will be held 12 noon Thursday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park. Viewing will be Wednesday from 5pm until 7pm at the funeral home.
