IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James
Williams
April 28, 1959 – May 13, 2025
On May 13, 2025, James E. Williams, 66, made his final moped ride around this amazing world he enjoyed so very much. He rode into the pearly gates of Heaven and said "Yes" to his Lord and Savior.
James, affectionately known as "Sailor Bob," was born on a bright sunny April 28, 1959. From an early age, James lived his life full of adventure. James is well known for his good-hearted nature and willingness to help others. As a young kid, he loved to hang out with his friends at the neighborhood pool. As he grew older, he fell in love with his moped, the color red, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He attended Norfolk Public Schools, graduating from Lake Taylor High School. He worked in construction for nearly 40 years and in his spare time socialized with his friends in Diggs Park and Campostella. It was common to see him chilling with friends and riding his moped throughout the area.
James was predeceased by his Mother, Shirley Williams; his Grandmother, Lavinia Epps; his Aunt, Mary E. Payne; his Brother-in-law, Raymond Oliver Sr. Older Brother, Anthony Williams; and his Uncle, Walter T. Williams.
He leaves to cherish memories his siblings, Lavinia T. Oliver (Raymond deceased) and Ronald Williams (Rose). A host of Nieces and Nephews: David Williams, Jette McFadden (Darryl), Raymond Oliver Jr. Jermaine L. Oliver (Delores) Ronald Williams Jr. (Crystal) Darryl S McFadden Jr. (Jewel) Tia N. Williams, Cameron M McFadden (Sydney) Kweli, Amir, Mary, Nakiyah, Tajai, Xavier, Isaiah, Maya, Na'zariah, Kailani and Kaira; and a host of other family and friends.
