Chesapeake – Jesse Cornelius Lunford, 81, of the 600 block of Qual Avenue departed this life December 6, 2008. Born in Chesapeake, he was employed with Steel Services, retiring after 25 years of loyal service. After retiring, he worked for Pinkelton Security Service for 15 years. He was a longtime member of St. James A.M.E. Church where he was a trustee and usher.

He is survived by his wife Deloris D. Lunford and daughter Vanessa D. Lunford of Chesapeake, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held 12:00 pm Friday at St. James A.M.E Church, Berkley. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be held 2pm – 7 pm at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
