Virginia Beach - Jimmie Kendall Hunter, 54, of the 3000 block of Breslaw Ct departed this life June 4, 2007. Born in North Carolina, he served in the United States Air Force Reserves for 5 years, and was employed as a mechanic for over 23 years. He was a member of Olive Grove Baptist Church.



He is predeceased by his father, James M. Hunter, Sr. Survivors include his wife, Sandra M. Hunter of Virginia Beach, a daughter, Tonya Hunter Dupree (Leonard) of Hampton, a son, James Maloyd Hunter II of Virginia Beach and his mother, Marion A. Hunter of Chesapeake; three sisters, Paula Robinson of Newport News, Eliza Joseph (Larry) and Nicki H. Spence (Tracy) of Chesapeake, one brother, Jerome S. Hunter of St. Paul, MN; mother-in-law, Marcella Holmes of New York, one sister-in-law, two brother-in-laws, five grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.



A funeral service will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Olive Grove Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Albert G. Horton, Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk. Viewing will be held Thursday from 2pm - 7 pm at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
