John Fields, 94, of the 100 block of Willis Avenue, Bronx, New York, was called home to be with the Lord on March 19, 2012.
He is predeceased by his wife, Cora J. Fields and his daughter, Shirley A. Perkins. Survivors include, his daughter, Barbara J. Fields of Norfolk; a brother, James Fields of Mt.Vernon, NY; four granddaughters, Brenda Fields, and Trena Fields of Norfolk, Beverly Perkins Williams (Michael) of Hampton and Patricia Perkins of Chesapeake; four grandsons, Anthony Fields (Debbie), Shelton Fields, Quinton Fields (Carla) of Norfolk, and Audwin Perkins (LaVanda) of Hampton ; twenty one great grandchildren, nineteen great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces , nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held Friday from 3pm-7pm at the funeral home. Condolences can be offered to the family at www.pretlowandsons.com .
