Obituary
Chesapeake – John Wilson, Jr., 72, of the 2900 block of Doris Avenue departed this life July 25, 2009. Born in Norfolk, he was employed with the City of Chesapeake as a traffic engineer for 25 years until his retirement. He was a member of Abundant Life Ministry, and he was a baseball fan: his favorite team was the Boston Red Sox.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine I. Wilson of Chesapeake, one daughter and six sons; one stepdaughter and two stepsons; six sisters and four brothers, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held noon Saturday at Solid Rock COGIC with Rev. Donnie Small, officiating. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held 2pm – 7pm Friday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
