John Skinner Sr., 80, of Norfolk, Virginia, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2023. Mr. Skinner was preceded in death by his loving wife Inez Griffin Skinner (November 3, 2020) and is survived by his children, Sheila Skinner Welch (husband Linwood), Clementine Skinner, John Skinner Jr. (wife Deborah), Richard Skinner, and India Skinner, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, many extended family and friends.

Mr. Skinner was a machinist by trade and his last employment was with the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He also was a veteran of the military serving in the Army.

A homegoing service will be held Friday, February 24 at 11 am at Greater Mt Zion GOGIC, 3100 Deep Creek Blvd, Portsmouth. The family will receive guest on Thursday, February 23, at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home from 5-7pm for a last viewing.
