Obituary
John Melvin Swain, 95, was called home to heavenly rest on May 27, 2014. He was a World War II Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife Vivian, and two children Timothy and Kimberly. Survivors include a daughter Valerie Lawton (Walter), a son Johnnie Swain (Valerie), and a host of grandchildren, relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. A repast will be at First Baptist Church West Munden following the graveside service at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held from 3-7pm on Friday at the funeral home. The family will meet at 1013 Collingwood Avenue, Chesapeake at 10:00 a.m. the day of the service for the processional to the funeral home. Condolences can be offered to the family at www.pretlowandsons.com
