John R. Wilson, Sr., 79, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at his home. He was born on November 13, 1942, in Norfolk County, Virginia, to the late Lee and Ardissia Wilson.

John, better known as Rosco, was also known to have several nicknames such as Rosco Peco Train, Buck, Filco, Boss Hog, Sco, and several others.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Mary Ann; two sons, Reginald Jones (Felicia) and Keith Wilson (Elizabeth); two daughters, Ardissia Rene' Ama and Lisa Wilson; one loving sister, Doris Edmonds; three brothers-in-law, Melvin Williams (Pastor Sarah), Robert Wilson and Augustus Williams (Mildred), nineteen grandchildren, sixteen  great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.  He preceded in death by daughters, Dorus Jarrett and Crystal Jones, sons John R. Wilson, Jr, Eugene Wilson,and Anthony R. Wilson, sister Georgianna Gibbs, and brothers Hurbert Wilson and Samuel Albritton.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home. Viewing will be held from 5pm until 7pm on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at the funeral home.
