In Loving Memory of Johnny Dozier IV ("Jay")

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Johnny Dozier IV, affectionately known as "Jay," who departed this life on July 25, 2026, at the young age of 21 in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Jay was a beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, partner, and father, whose presence brought joy, laughter, and love to those who knew him. He will be remembered for his caring heart, unforgettable smile, and the love he shared so freely with his family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Tonya Harper; his siblings, Shikemp Harper, Zion Brown, and Kyndall Harper; the love of his life, Nykia Massey; and his cherished three-month-old son, Yadriel Dozier, who was the light of his life.

Jay is also survived by his devoted aunts, Melissa Hardy (Maury) and Sharlene Alston (William); his uncle, George Harper III; his cousins, Shayla Harper and William Alston; his grandparents, George Harper Jr. & Eunice Harper; and a host of extended family members, dear friends, and loved ones who will forever treasure the memories they shared with him.

Although Jay's life was far too brief, the love he gave and the impact he made will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His memory will continue to inspire those who loved him, and his spirit will never be forgotten.
