He is survived by his father, Rev. Dr. Edward Stokes of Norfolk, Virginia, son, Darryl Horton of Norfolk,Virginia, grandson, Michael D. Horton, grandaughter Lessia Horton, four brothers, Perry Newton of Jonestown, Georgia, Douglas Newton of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Jerome Newton of Norfolk, Virginia, and Leon Stokes of Virginia Beach, Virginia, his extended family, finacee Bernadette King-Rodman, Jamel King-Rodman, and Darius King-Rodman, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A celebration of his life will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Pretlow and Sons Funeral, 500 Liberty Street, Chesapeake, Virginia 22324, where viewing will be held from 9:30 am until service time.
