Obituary
Joseph Linwood Smith Sr. (Joe/Big Joe) 73, went peacefully, surrounded by those he Loved by his side on Tuesday, September 9, 2014.
Joe was born March 27,1941 in Norfolk, Va. He was preceded in death by his parents Andrew J. Smith and Elsie B. Smith, and his sister Sylvia Smith.
Joe was a person of impeccable integrity, a Great sense of humor and a Hard worker for Asplundh Tree Company for 46 years. He touched the lives of countless people, and there can be no doubt, that anyone who ever came in contact with him was a better person for doing so.
His Greatest loves were his Family (Even Extended), The Dallas Cowboys, His Kids and Grandkids, and he really cherished his Daughter-In-Law.
His memory will be cherished by his brothers, Lindsey Smith and Benny Smith, son Joseph L. Smith Jr. and Daughter-In-Law Stephanie J. Smith, daughters Dorinda Kirby and Stephanie Loyd, and his Greatly loved Grandkids, Joseph Smith III, Tyler Smith, Desiree Smith, Madison Smith, Brandon Smith, Chris Kirby, Jonathan Hall, Sean Brownley Jr., Alexis Bailey, Caden Smith, Serena Smith and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday September 13,2014 at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home in South Norfolk from 11-1.
