With his loving children by his side, Joseph A. Teshara, Sr. (84) was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 14, 2022. He was the son of the late Francis J. Teshara and Minnie B. Johnson. He was raised in the Berkley section of Norfolk. He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School where he played the tenor saxophone for the band. He proudly served in the United States Army. He later retired from the Norfolk Naval Supply Center after 29 years of employment.

Joseph was predeceased by Harriet Teshara, his loving wife of 60 years. He leaves to cherish his memory his three children; Joyce Teshara-Tartt (Kent); Joseph Teshara, Jr. (Regina); Annie Teshara; grandson Justin Teshara; bonus grandchildren: Kendall Tartt, Taylor Tartt and Litishia Salary; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, relatives, and friends.

The Homegoing Service will be held at First Baptist Church Berkley on Saturday, October 22 at 11 a.m. Viewing will be at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home on Friday, October 21 from 5-7pm.
