Joshua Howard Pretlow Jr. peacefully entered eternal life on Sunday, August 31, 2025, in Chesapeake. He was born on February 28, 1943, in Atlantic City, New Jersey to the late Joshua H. Pretlow Sr. and Lucille Doxey Pretlow. He retired from the Ford Plant, and he served in the United States Marine Corps.

Viewing will be held Friday, September 5, 2025, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at First Calvary Baptist Church, 813 Henry Street, Norfolk, VA. Burial will be 9:00 am Friday, September 12, 2025, at Albert G Horton Jr Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, VA.
