Portsmouth –Joyce Bright Ferebee, 62, of the 1000 block of Patriot Way departed this life February 3, 2013. Born December 31, 1950 in Chesapeake, she was the daughter of the late Eula Nixon Allen and Henry Bright Sr. She was predeceased by her sisters, Joanne Kimpson and Judy Robinson, and brother, Henry "Donell" Bright.

She is survived by her daughter, Tonya Nichols, grandchildren, Ricky Dicus, Jr. and Eric Skinner, Jr. of Suffolk, eight sisters, Ella Lewis, Lillie Allen, Trina Moore (Elias), Jacqueline Bright, Lula Faye Hamilton (Dennis), Angela Happer (Tony), Tamara Mosley and Tameka Hatcher; seven brothers, George Lee Bright (Beverly), Clinton Bright (Wanda), William Bright (Abbey), Tony Allen, Richard Allen (Pauline), David Bright and Robert Bright; one great aunt, Maggie Bell; one aunt, Pauline Smith, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held noon Saturday at Bethel Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the Nixon Family Cemetery. Viewing will be held from 3-7pm Friday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Condolences can be offered to the family at www.pretlowandsons.com.
