With the humble acceptance of God's will, we announce the passing of Julia Mae Whitehurst Gregory on Friday, November 10, 2023. Julia was born on March 17, 1943 to the late Moses and Thelma Whitehurst. Julia taught in the Chesapeake Public School system for over forty (40) years, was a devoted member of Gabriel Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church and was a Life and Golden member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ®️.

A public viewing will be held from 3-6 p.m. with a private "Ivy Beyond the Wall" ceremony to start promptly at 6 p.m. on Monday, November 27, 2023 at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, 500 Liberty Street, Chesapeake, Virginia 23324.

A "Celebration of Life Service" will honor Julia's life at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at New Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, 1765 South Military Highway, Chesapeake, Virginia, 23320.
