Portsmouth - On Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at 3:30 a., the Lord called our beloved daughter, Kathleen Darnell Boone home to eternal rest. She departed this life after a brief illness at the Bon Secours Mary view Medical Center in Portsmouth.





Kathleen was born in Nansemond County, Virginia on December 22, 1946 to Dolllie M. Boone and the late Carl C. Boone. She was predeceased by her father, her brother, Carl Rudolph, and her son, Jamaal S. Boone.



She leaves to cherish her memories; her mother, Dollie M. Boone of Portsmouth, Virginia; a special aunt, Eva J. Holland of Carrsville, Virginia; two uncles, James T. Johnson of Suffolk, Virginia and Earl Johnson of Brooklyn, New York; two nieces, Monique Brown of Portsmouth, Virginia; and Jemarish Brown of Jacksonville, Florida; and a host of cousins and numerous friends.



Kathleen was educated in the public schools of Isle of Wight Count y, Virginia before moving to Washington, DC, and later to Brooklyn, New York, where she worked numerous jobs until returning to Portsmouth Department of Social Services until her demise. Kathleen was an inspiration to her family and friends. She was greatly loved by all, and will greatly be missed.



A home going celebration will be held noon Tuesday in the chapel of Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Interment will follow at Mt. Sinai Church Cemetery, Suffolk. Viewing will be held 2 pm - 7 pm Monday at the funeral home.
