Chesapeake - Larry E. Smith was born to the late Lawrence E. Smith and Florence M. Holloway on October 14, 1949 in Norfolk County. Larry aka "Smitty" aka "Po Boy" attended Waterford and Carver Schools. He retired from Chesapeake Redevelopment and Housing Authority after 17 years of service.

Larry leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 25 years Joan "Donnie" Smith; five daughters Tanya Brown, Tamario Smith, Tameka Smith, Latoya Valmond (Ruben) and Joan Corprew; four sons Danny Corprew, Michael Bell, Britton Corprew and Eric Corprew; two sisters Joyce Hawkins and Patricia Stafford (Wayne), and one brother Ricky Smith (Shirley); 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church West Munden located at 1541 Lyons Avenue in Chesapeake. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park.
