Lavon M. Creekmore, son of the late Alrick A. Blount and Gladys O. Creekmore Williams departed this life on January 4, 2009.
He was born in Norfolk County and raised in the Chesapeake/Portsmouth area where he attended public schools and earned his high school diploma. He later served his country as a member of the United States Army. Upon his honorable discharge he worked for the City of Norfolk Water Department.
He is preceded in death by one daughter, Josette Simmons. He leaves to cherish his memory a wife, Millicent J. Creekmore of Bel Air, MD; three daughters, April A. Johnson (Richard) of Philadelphia, PA; Tamar S. Everette (Reginald) and Zatara A. Creekmore of Bel Air, MD; Two sisters, Velda L. Bell (Phillip) of Chesapeake, VA; Evangeline Nixon of Norfolk, VA; Five grandchildren, Michael L. Houston, Taressa A. Houston, Angela L. Houston, Darion Perdue, Dominique L. Everette; Three great-grandchildren, Tiyana L. Houston, Ja'que L. Houston, Tymeir N. Houston; Three aunts, Doris Sykes, Shirley Creekmore,
Alwanza Moyler;
Two nieces, Angel O. Bell and Beverly Nixon;
One nephew, Karl Nixon
and a host of other relatives and friends.
