Our beloved Lena Mae Cowan was born April 26, 1956 to Mildred Elliott and Eddie Holmes, Sr., in Norfolk, Virginia. On Monday, May 6, 2024, our family circle was broken when she peacefully went home to be with the Lord. She was educated in North Carolina. Lena later became a homemaker and a housewife. She loved enjpyong nice weather, music, butterflies, and most important family, and family gatherings. Please not us forget her dog's Prince Mae Mac.

Lena was predeceased by her brothers, Ronnie Walston and Eddie Holmes, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Mildred Elliott;  husband, Jerry Cowan; childen, Tonya Harper (Gabriel) and Reggie Holmes; grandkids, Lamonta Holmes, Chadena Cumberbatch (AKeem), Tyasia Tompkins (Paul) and Rayjon Holmes; great grandkids, Maddie Holmes, Mason Stokes and Azaiah Cumberbatch; brothers, Curtis Holmes, Tony Henderson and Jeffery Holmes, and last but not least many relatives and family friends.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, 500 Liberty Street, Chesapeake. Viewing will be held from 5pm until 7pm Friday, May 10, 2024 at the funeral home.
