On Saturday, September 10, 2022, a loving father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, Leroy Owens ("Bunny") slipped into the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Leroy Owens was born April 27, 1943 in Norfolk, Virginia to the late John A. Owens, Sr. and Birsetta Britton Owens.  He is preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas L. Owens, John A. Owens, Jr., Robert L. Owens; sisters, Queenie Mae, Rosa Mack, Dorothy Clark, and Jeanette Livingston; and special friend, Angela Anderson ("Pinkie").

Leroy, affectionately known as "Bunny", grew up in the City of Norfolk (Campostella area), Virginia.  He attended Norfolk Public Schools and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School.  He worked as a driver for Tar-Mac Cement Company, at Norfolk State University in custodial services, and at Scott's Grocery Store.  He also had his own business, Leroy's Power Washing, LLC.

Left to cherish his memories are his sons: William (Billy) Leroy Owens (Tiffany), Aaron Anderson, and Brandon Anderson (Jasmine); his grandchildren: Isayah Owens, Adijah Owens, Wilshawn Owens, Brandon Anderson, Jr., Bayshawn  Anderson, Beaja Anderson, Kharon Parker, Octavion Taylor, Kash Anderson, Yuri Anderson, Sky Anderson, Aaron Anderson, Jr., Aarion Anderson, Amor Anderson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 22, 2022 at First Baptist Church Campostella, 1510 Conoga Street, Norfolk, where viewing is 5-7pm Wednesday, September 21, 2022. Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
