of Eason Road, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to many passed away on January 10, 2009 at the Hampton Veterans Administration Palliative Care Center. He was educated and lived in New York City and was a resident of Chesapeake since 1991.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II and was stationed in the Philippines. He worked as a Commercial Printer/Bookbinder and retired in 1990.
In his retirement, he refinished furniture at Mitchell's Complete Upholstery until 2006.
Lee is survived by Floria ('Tweety'), his wife of 53 years, six daughters Deloys 'Sissie' Robinson (Earlie), Rev. Marilyn Carroll, Rozlyn Leslie (Peter), Carolyn Powell-Rivers (Nathaniel), Gwendolyn Hillard (Tyrone), and Jacquelyn Powell. Lee was a wonderful and loving grandfather to eight grand-children Dana Koerner, Darnell Powell (Jessica), Satia and Jon Rivers, Tamara, Travis and Levi Withers, Maurice Williams, four great grand-children, brother Arnold A. Powell, deceased (Christina S. Powell) and a host of nieces and nephews including those to whom he was like a father.
