Chesapeake - Linzy Billups, Jr., 70, departed this life April 5, 2007. Born in Swainsboro, Georgia, he was a bus driver for Roosevelt Island Transit Services for 25 years until his retirement.



He is survived by his wife, Ethel B. Billups of Chesapeake; three daughters, Sandra McCarter (Stan) of New York, Lydia Billups of Hampton, and Ethel (Mickey) Billups of Georgia; three sons, Sandy A. Billups (Luegenia), Linzy V. Billups (Carroll), and Lawrence B. Billups, and Terry Haskins whom he raised as his son for over 30 years all of New York; one brother, Clarence Thomas of New York; one sister-in-law, Lillian Billups of New York; twelve grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren, one aunt, other relatives and friends.



A funeral service will be held Wednesday at noon in the chapel of Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held Tuesday from 2pm - 7pm at the funeral home.
