Lois Spence
Walton
April 15, 1937 – January 9, 2025
Lois Spence Walton was called home to be with the Lord on January 9, 2025, after an extended period of illness. Now at peace, she has entered into perfect rest and the ultimate gift of eternal life.
Lois was educated in the Norfolk Public Schools System and was a long-term resident of the Hampton Roads area. Upon graduation from high school, she completed a nurse's aide program and worked at Norfolk General Hospital for several years. She left employment to follow her husband who was in the Marine Corps and dedicated her life to being a fulltime homemaker, loving mother and military spouse. Lois was a faithful member and supporter of the Bethlehem Church of God In Christ where she served in various capacities until her declining health prevented her participation.
Lois was predeceased by her parents, Elder Joe Rome Spence, and Nettie Parker Spence, two sisters, Shirley Spence Saunders and Elmira Christine Spence Boyce and one brother, Clinton Spence. She is survived by her husband, James C. Walton, two sons, Troy A. Walton and Christopher C. Walton, one grandson, Logan Walton, one brother, Elder Joseph R. Spence, Charlotte Richardson and one sister-in-law Antionette Spence; 23 nieces and nephews, 52 great nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins and friends. She will be missed by all whose hearts she touched and inspired.
A viewing will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 5 to 7pm at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake, Virginia. The funeral services will be held 11:00 am at the St. Stephens Church of God In Christ, 189 S. Birdneck Road, Virginia Beach, VA. Interment will be at the Albert G.
