On October 7, 2022, Lorenzo Warren Braye Jr, a loving and devoted father, husband, brother, uncle and friend, laid down his burden to rest in the arms of his Heavenly Fat her. He was born to Lorenzo Sr. and Beatrice Braye on June 26, 1953, in Newark, NJ.

Lorenzo received his professional  training in Arizona, and the Norfolk Naval Shipyard Electronic Apprentice Training Program.  It was there where he developed his life long trade as an Electrical and Broadcast Engineer.

Lorenzo met and married Bridgette Holmes in 1991. That union produced his joy, Zenobia Bey Braye in 2004. Their bond will live forever. Although this marriage ended, Lorenzo and Bridgette remained friends and lovingly raised Zenobia. Lorenzo later married his early sweetheart, Joann Bell in 2020. Joann was dutifully and earnestly by his side until the end.

Lorenzo was preceded in death by his parents, and niece, Dr. Dedra Jordan. He leaves to mourn his wife Joanne, daughter Zenobia and her mother Bridgette, stepson Corey Easterling, sister Dr. Delores Wilson, cousin and best friend, Adolphe Braye Jr, nephew, Milton Ray Dixon III and a host of family and friends.

Lorenzo grew up in and largely practiced the Muslim faith, but was open to the teachings of religions and philosophies. Before his transition, Lorenzo accepted Jesus into his heart with the prayer of salvation. His soul is at peace.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, where viewing will be held 10:00 a.m. the day of the service. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park.
