Chesapeake – Lorraine Pinkney Freeman, 78, of the 2400 block of Crown Ct. departed this life July 2, 2013. She was employed at Newport News Shipyard for over 10 years until her retirement.

She is predeceased by her husband, Archie "Bud" Freeman. Survivors include her daughter, Felicia F. White (Colovita) of N.C.; one son, Robert Bruce Freeman (Beverly) of Chesapeake, three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; her cousin and caregiver, Millicent Clark of Chesapeake, and a host of relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church Berkley. Interment will follow at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. Viewing will be held from 12-5pm Sunday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Condolences can be offered to the family at www.pretlowandsons.com.
