Louis Cornelius Bell was called home to be with the Lord on July 23, 2019. Born in Norfolk County on October 20, 1933, he was the son of the late Cornelius A. Bell and Beatrice Etheridge Bell. He was a longtime member of Lee's Chapel A.M.E. Church, he was employed as a commercial truck driver for Kraft Foods Group until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife Catherine M. Bell; three sons, Willie Sherrod, Melvin Bell, and Irvin Sherrod; one daughter, Deana Barnard; four grandchildren, Terrance, Ashley, Ciara, and Destiny; three great grandchildren, Kobe, Jacory, and Adien; four brothers, two sisters, and a host of cousins, and friends.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, 500 Liberty Street, Chesapeake. Viewing will be on Monday, July 29, 2019 from 5 pm until 7 pm at the funeral home.
