Chesapeake – Luberta Harris Carrington, 82, of the 1800 block of Campstella Road departed this life March 5, 2009. Born in Virginia Beach, she was employed with Holloman and Brown Funeral Home for 19 years until her retirement. She was a longtime member of Greater St. Andrews AME Church where she served in the Floral Club, and she was a member of the Good Samaritan Lodge.

She is predeceased by her daughter, Hilda R. Johnson. Survivors include three daughters, Verazola D. Hargrove of Norfolk, Queen Esther C. Brown (Lloyd) and Celestine C. Sparrow of Chesapeake; one son, Herman Carrington Jr. (Yvonne) of Portsmouth; fifteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm at Greater St. Andrews AME Church. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held 2pm – 7 pm at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
