On Wednesday, January 10, 2018 our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend went home to be with our Lord and Savior.

Lucy Wiggins Joyner, 95, daughter of the late Joseph and Laura Rena Wiggins was born in Tarboro, North Carolina in the County of Edgecombe on March 15, 1922. She was the third child of her four siblings. She peacefully departed this earthly life on Wednesday, January 10, 2018.

Lucy was married to Jeffie R. Joyner for 66 years. From their union they were blessed with four beautiful children: Shirley Joyner, Jessie Joyner, Jr., Hilda J. Dailey, and Maurice Joyner.

She was a member of First Baptist Church Crestwood, where she served on the Senior Female Usher Board and she sang in the Senior Choir.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jessie Joyner, Jr., daughter Shirley Joyner, her husband Jeffie R. Joyner, her sister Laura Bell Hines, brothers John Thomas Wiggins, and Augusta Wiggins.

She leaves to cherish her memory two children: Hilda J. Dailey (Cameron) of Petersburg, VA, and Maurice Joyner of Chesapeake, VA; two grandchildren Jamaine Dailey (Ebony) of Chesapeake, VA, and Tamara Nicole Mitchell (Princeton) of Fort Knox, Kentucky; four great grandchildren, Courtney Perry, Jamaine Dailey Jr., Jaxon Dailey, and Zoey Mitchell, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
