Luella Brooks of the 3000 block of Elbyrne Drive, Chesapeake was called home after a long illness on March 12. 2013. Luella was born to Daniel and Luanna Johnson on July 27, 1926, in Norfolk, Virginia. She is predeceased by her late husband, Dennis R. Brooks, one son, Donald Brooks, five brothers and one sister.

She is survived by her sister, Lillian Sitney; four daughters, Betty Bussell, Barbara (Donald) Brown, Lendora Alexander, and Linda (Alonzo) Gamble; three sons, Marshall (Gardenia) Brooks, Dennis Brooks, and Daniel (Joyce)Brooks; 25 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Also a special thanks to Dr. John Patterson and the Hospice Department. The family thanks all family and friends for your prayers and support.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 16, at New Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 662 Fernwood Farm Rd, Chesapeake. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held from 3-7pm Friday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
