Luther James Twine Jr. (Lil Son) born on October 4, 1928 in Weeksville, NC to the late Luther Twine, Sr. and Roberta James Twine was called home to be with the Lord on March 20, 2014 at his home in Chesapeake. Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by his sister, Myrtle Portlock and his son David Twine.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Willie Lee Twine of Chesapeake; four sons, Luther J. Twine III, Larry Winslow (Linda) and Randy Arnold (Dora) all of Chesapeake, and Alphonzo Twine of Atlanta Georgia; six daughters, Kim Watts of Chesapeake, Clementine Barnes (Milton) of Rocky Mount, NC, Nellie Johnson (Freddie) of Chesapeake, Sherell Twine of Newport News, Malade Morris (Roy) of Virginia Beach, and Urica Edmond (Barry) of Woodbridge, VA; three brothers, Leroy Twine (Linda), Sylester Twine (Shirley) and Hercules Twine; three sisters, Vernell Spellman (W.L.), Mary Jane McCollough, and Roberta Mclean (William "Bill"); two sister-in-laws, Irene Townsend (Roosevelt) and Odessa Ricks; one brother-in-law, Lawrence Washington Lee; twenty six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and a host of fostered children, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends.

A home going service will be held 12 noon Thursday at New Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be from 3-7pm Wednesday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Condolences can be offered to the family at www.pretlowandsons.com.
