Chesapeake- Mable Virginia Porch of the 2500 block of Rock Creek Drive went silently into eternal rest on Monday, March 19, 2012, at Sentara Rosemount Nursing Facility. Born March 21, 1926 in Nansemond County, (Suffolk) to the late Rechetta Myrick and Emmett Scott, she was predeceased by her husband, Leroy Porch. She was employed by the STOP Organization for many years until her health began to fail.
She leaves to cherish her memory her only son, Vernon T. Scott, his wife and caregiver, Celeste; grandchildren, Dionne Everett (Ryan), Vanessa Hill, Vernon Scott II (Helen), and Sgt. Vashon Scott (Michelah), and a host of relatives and friends.
A funeral service will held 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Emmaus Road Baptist Church, 3000 Berkley Ave, Chesapeake. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Gardens.
