Marcia Lucille W. Freeman (Lil' Woman) was born May 29, 1964 to the late Wallace Wilson Sr. and to Moan (Mother) Mittie Mann and (stepfather) Annias Mann.
Marcia is a native of Chesapeake, Virginia. She was married to James Freeman Sr. For many years she worked for the City of Chesapeake as a faithful custodian (Hickory High School). Until she became ill, she became a live-in caretaker for her Aunt Flyssie Banks. Marcia was a loving, caring grandmother of her grandchildren. "Lil' Woman" was a lover of all man-kind, and animal alike. She was always full of laughter and a joyous person.
Marcia Freeman is survived by three sons, James Wilson, Harrison Wilson, and De'Shawn Freeman all of Chesapeake. She also leaves behind on sister, Mittie Gaynor (Ezell Jr.); and six brothers, Wallace Wilson Jr. (Margarette), Everette Wilson (Felicia), Roy Wilson (Antoinette), Floyd Wilson (Adrine), George Wilson (Rita), Curtis Wilson (Janelle). She was blessed with eight grandchildren. She also leaves behind four sisters-in-law, Emma Perison, Tecora Ferebee, Elevline Bradshaw, Mildred Robertson; and three brothers-in-law, Aaron Freeman, Howard Freeman, and Leeroy Freeman. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family members; and special friends, Richard Brown, Shameka Rasheda, and Kristen. She was preceded by a brother, Nathaniel Wilson; and a sister, Mary Rebellia Wilson.
A funeral service will be held 12:00 pm Staurday at New Galilee Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held Friday from 3pm - 7 pm at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. You may offer condolences to the family at www.pretlowandsosn.com .
