Norfolk - Marie W. Young, 82, of the 6500 block of Sorby Ct departed this life Thursday, August 16, 2007. Born in New Jersey, she was predeceased by her husband, James Young, Jr, and daughter, Loretta Baines (Paul).



She leaves to cherish her memory, six children, Carolyn Uzzle, Beverly Jones (Wayne), Rodney Young all of Norfolk, James Young III (Willie Mae) of Virginia Beach, Clayton Young (Geneva) of New Jersey, and Steven Young of Georgia; two sisters, Joyce Hawkins (Herman) and Annie L. Wilson, fifteen grandchildren, including Renee Cross (Garnett), five great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.



A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul C.M.E. Church, 310 E Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held 2pm - 7pm Tuesday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
